|28 Nov 2017||Inauguration and 1st meeting of Institute’s Mainland China Technical Consultation Panel|
The Institute established the Mainland China Technical Consultation Panel (MCTCP) this year which is a Panel of the Institute’s Mainland China Focus Group. It was established to provide technical support on issues of common interests of Mainland board secretaries profession through meetings, consultations and guidelines.
The MCTCP comprises thirteen members with diversified expertise. Institute Vice-President Dr Gao Wei FCIS FCS(PE) was appointed by Institute Council as the MCTCP Chairman. Huang Qing FCIS FCS, Board Secretary of China Shenhua Energy Company Ltd, and Dr Jin Xiaobin FCIS FCS, former Board Secretary of Haitong Securities, were appointed as MCTCP Vice-Chairmen.
The MCTCP held its first meeting on 28 November 2017 at the Institute’s Beijing Representative Office (BRO) with eleven members participated. Institute Chief Executive Samantha Suen FCIS FCS(PE), Professional Development Director Lydia Kan FCIS FCS(PE) and BRO’s Chief Representative Kenneth Jiang FCIS FCS(PE) were also attended the meeting.
At this meeting, which was chaired by Dr Gao Wei, amongst other things, three Interest Groups namely, Regulation Consultation Group, Practical Guidelines Group and Corporate Governance Practical Training Materials Development Group were established under MCTCP. Members also had a full discussion on the proposed projects for year 2018 and agreed to work on two projects in 2018.
