Increasingly, the company secretary is concerned with governance related issues over NGOs. This is because many enterprises and individuals ‘give back’ to society and need to rely on the company secretary’s governance skill set as a source of help. This seminar is intended to provide practical sharing of the risk and governance issues by those experienced with NGO governance, and intended to help understand the overall issues affecting an NGO and how to deal with the major risks associated with them.
This seminar is supported by The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries Foundation Limited (the Foundation), the Foundation was established by The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS) on 5 January 2012 as a company limited by guarantee under the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance. The Foundation is a registered charity under Section 88 of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Ordinance (Charity reference 91/11348) which enables donors to claim tax relief in Hong Kong for donations made to the Foundation; The Foundation supports educational and research programmes in corporate governance, company secretarial, legal, accounting, and business studies fields for the benefit of the Chartered Secretarial profession, governance professionals and the general public.
